East Turkestan Islamic Movement - East Turkestan Islamic Movement is a militant Islamic group which seeks to separate East Turkestan from the People's Republic of China. It is considered by both the governments of the PRC and the United States to be a terrorist group.
First East Turkestan Republic - The First Eastern Turkestan Republic (ETR), or Turkish Islamic Republic of East Turkestan (TIRET), was a short-lived break-away would-be constitutional republic founded in 1933. It was centered around the city of Kashgar in what is today the People's Republic of China-administered province of Xinjiang.
